No matter whether the bath is standing in the middle of the bathroom or in a corner due to space restrictions: rectangular baths are easy to install in practically any bathroom. Nevertheless, there are a host of different models and designs for this bath shape. After all, your new bath should match your living and interior style while providing maximum bathing and shower comfort.
Discover the large selection of different models – for large bathrooms with plenty of space as well as for small (guest) bathrooms where every inch counts but you still want to be able to enjoy a relaxing soak. Narrow baths that can snuggle into a corner are perfect for very small bathrooms. However, if you like taking baths with your partner or your entire family, then you will need a more spacious model where you all have enough elbowroom to relax, wash, splash around or play.
High-quality baths are made from materials that are very durable and resistant. Acrylic, a plastic that is easy to clean, non-porous and seamlessly smooth, is a classic. It has a warm surface that is very pleasant to the touch.
Villeroy & Boch has taken this classic substance and developed a new innovative material to be used for their baths:Quaryl®. Quaryl® is a blend of 60% finest ground quartz and sanitary acrylic, combining the best of both worlds. Baths made from Quaryl® have a very smooth and warm surface. This material also stores the heat of the bath water exceptionally well. So you can enjoy a hot bath for longer while saving water. And all that in a special atmosphere as many of our Quaryl® baths have received national and international design awards for their elegant and timeless design.
Regardless of whether you choose acrylic or Quaryl®, the surfaces of the rectangular baths are very easy to clean as they do not have any seams or pores. You can simply remove limescale with vinegar or a special limescale cleaner. Alkaline cleaners, such as a mild washing-up liquid, help with substances that leave greasy marks.
The plastics are completely coloured-through, making them resistant to small scratches or other minor damage. You can treat superficial damage on an acrylic bath with a special care set available from a specialist retailer. Specialist retailers also stock special repair sets for removing deeper damage, which entails refilling grooves or larger scratches.
Rectangular baths are very versatile and provide many options for how and where they can be installed. You could simply put your new rectangular bath with a support in a corner with two of the four sides against the walls. This way you get the most out of the limited space in your bathroom and can still enjoy a hot bath whenever you want to.
If your bathroom has a more spacious floor plan, then you could make it the centrepiece by installing it in front of just one wall or simply in the middle of the room. Your bath will look even more elegant on a platform clad with matching tiles. Or you could have your new bath sunk into the floor so that it blends seamlessly into the surroundings. To do so, you need a bathroom that has good ceiling height or enough space to go down – 50 cm is all you need to sink the bath into the floor.
